Synopsis (Filmmaker)
We're delighted to bring JULIA REICHERT: 50 YEARS IN FILM to Julia's hometown. Our four initial screenings were much-loved and engaging, and we are adding more films in 2022.AND THIS JUST IN!! We've added Julia Reichert & Steve Bognar's latest film to the mix - DAVE CHAPPELLE LIVE IN REAL LIFE. It will screen June 1 at 7pm. The retrospective, which was curated and organized by the Wexner Center for the Arts, premiered at the Museum of Modern Art in May 2019. The film series then traveled to Los Angeles, Houston, Minneapolis, Portland, Cleveland, Louisville and Madison before the pandemic shut everything down. Reichert said, “It means so much to me to share these films again with Dayton audiences, many who weren’t even born yet when these films came out.” On May 11, we screened the Emmy-winning documentary A LION IN THE HOUSE. On May 18 at 7pm, we will feature the Oscar-winning film about the Fuyao plant in Moraine - AMERICAN FACTORY. In addition to Julia & Steve being in attendance, several of the film's subjects will be on hand for a Q&A! On May 25 at 7pm, we'll screen the documentary about the labor movement that still impacts work for women and the American workforce (and also sparked a movie & hit song) - 9TO5: THE STORY OF A MOVEMENT. And on June 1, we'll screen DAVE CHAPPELLE LIVE IN REAL LIFE - a documentary made during Chappelle's live shows and the Black Lives Matter protests in Yellow Springs during the first summer of the pandemic. Tickets are now on sale for all screenings!

Synopsis (Variance Films)
"Back on the big screen where it belongs for a one night only, RRR is an exhilarating, action-packed spectacular mythologizing two real-life freedom fighters who helped lead India’s fight for independence from the British Raj, Komaram Bheem (N.T Rama Rao Jr., aka Jr NTR) and Alluri Sitarama Raju (Ram Charan). Set in the 1920s before their fight for India’s independence began, RRR imagines a fictional meeting between the two, set into motion when a young Gond girl is stolen from her village by British soldiers. With a powerful message, staggeringly choreographed action sequences, and an all-timer of a musical number, RRR is sheer big-screen joy from start to finish, and audiences have one last chance to see it big and loud as intended." Tickets for this screening will be $12, and available on-line or at our box office very soon.

Synopsis (Oscilloscope )
Written and co-directed by Springfield native Noah Dixon, POSER premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival in 2021 and then was the opening night film at The Dayton Independent Film Festival last Fall. We're excited to bring it back for the Miami Valley. "Wallflower Lennon Gates (Sylvie Mix) yearns for access to the inner sanctum of the underground music scene in Columbus, Ohio. When she creates a podcast to interview the local artists she adores, Lennon discovers her own musical ambitions, develops a fast friendship with the striking, confident performer Bobbi Kitten, and in the process creates an identity not wholly her own. Soon, Lennon’s aspirations, with some constructive coaxing from Bobbi to find her voice, lead her down a path of dark obsession."

Synopsis (NEON MGMT.)
THE NEON's Board is moving forward with our plan to ease some of our COVID protocols. Starting Friday, April 1, 2022, we no longer require proof of vaccination for moviegoers. Additionally, our current masks are "highly recommended, but not required." Here's what hasn't changed: - Staff will continue to be masked until further notice. - Our state-of-the-art, hospital-grade air purifiers will still be operating 24 hours a day. We have one in each auditorium and one in the lobby. - At this time, we're still not encouraging congregating in our lobby before or after shows. You might recall that we used to have numerous bistro tables in the lobby...those will be gone until further notice. That said, as warm weather permits, we hope you'll utilize our patio for pre & post film discussions. We even hope you'll join us on the patio for a beer or glass of wine when possible this spring. - Plexiglass barriers will still be between customers and staff at points of sale. We will still place a buffer seat between parties in each auditorium until further notice unless both parties agree that a buffer seat is not required. - Assigned seating will still be part of our practice. In addition to our daily practice of sanitizing all utilized seats, we will also have all of our seat components treated with electrostatic protection from Ecovasive Infection Control. - Please realize that these protocols could change at any time as we continue to monitor the trends in our community's healthcare system and seek guidance from health care professionals.
