Hello Everyone!

This Thursday marks the start of Sean Baker's ANORA - a film that won the Cannes Film Festival's Palme d'Or and will be a big part of the conversation this award season. Baker is no stranger to THE NEON; his films THE FLORIDA PROJECT and RED ROCKET were both well received.  This new film is definitely one for adults. In this week's issue of BALTIMORE MAGAZINE, Max Weiss writes, "ANORA is [Baker's] version of PRETTY WOMAN and it’s all we could’ve hoped for—a masterwork that combines the deadpan cinematography of a Jim Jarmusch film, the exuberant profanity of a Martin Scorsese film, and Baker’s own scuzzy, funny, aching dreamscapes."

If you still need to see the MY NAME IS ALFRED HITCHCOCK, Thursday will be your last chance.  CONCLAVE - which audiences are loving - will stick around.  Next Thursday, we open Jesse Eisenberg's Sundance hit A REAL PAIN! (Opening weekend tickets for A REAL PAIN are already on sale.). And traditional engagements for the remainder of the year are being cemented right now.  On Nov. 27, we are confirmed to open MARIA - the new biopic about Maria Callas starring Angelina Jolie, directed by Pablo Larraín (director of JACKIE and SPENCER).

"Open Caption Mondays" are a hit and much appreciated by many of our regulars.  On Monday, Nov. 11, all screenings of CONCLAVE and ANORA will be presented with Open Captions (aka - captions presented on the screen). 

Synopsis for ANORA:  "Anora, a young sex worker from Brooklyn, gets her chance at a Cinderella story when she meets and impulsively marries the son of an oligarch. Once the news reaches Russia, her fairytale is threatened as the parents set out for New York to get the marriage annulled. FAMILY HOLIDAY FILM SERIES

We're delighted to bring back an annual tradition this year - a budget-friendly movie series for the entire family.  For the first three Saturdays in December at 11:00am, we'll host movies that are free for kids 12 and under and only $2 for anyone else.  On Dec. 7, we'll start with the Gene Wilder classic WILLY WONKA AND THE CHOCOLATE FACTORY.  On Dec. 14, it's the animated treat HAPPY FEET, and on Dec. 21, we'll wrap up with the 1985 film SANTA CLAUS: THE MOVIE - with Dudley Moore and John Lithgow.
