Tomorrow marks the start of two great, star-studded films - JAY KELLY & RENTAL FAMILY.  Both of these films are perfect for the Thanksgiving season, and we hope you'll help us spread the word!

If you still need to see NUREMBERG or IT WAS JUST AN ACCIDENT, tomorrow (Thursday) will be your last chance to see them with us.

Be sure to keep reading to find out about some new special events we have on the books - including the documentary WISDOM OF HAPPINESS with Dali Lama and the return of the much-loved HUNDREDS OF BEAVERS.  We even added an encore of CARAVAGGIO - which our sold-out audience raved about on Sunday.

"Open Caption Mondays" are much appreciated by many of our regulars.  On Monday, Nov. 24, our screenings of JAY KELLY and RENTAL FAMILY will be presented with Open Captions (aka - captions presented on the screen). 

Synopsis forJAY KELLY: From Noah Baumbach, director of THE SQUID AND THE WHALE, WHILE WE'RE YOUNG and MARRIAGE STORY (as well as co-writer of BARBIE), comes his latest film starring George Clooney, Adam Sandler and Laura Dern. "Famous movie actor Jay Kelly embarks on a journey of self discovery confronting both his past and present, accompanied by his devoted manager Ron."

Synopsis forRENTAL FAMILY: "An American actor in Tokyo struggles to find purpose until he lands an unusual gig: working for a Japanese 'rental family' agency, playing stand-in roles for strangers. As he immerses himself in his clients' worlds, he begins to form genuine bonds that blur the lines between performance and reality."

FAMILY HOLIDAY FILM SERIES

We're delighted to bring back an annual tradition this year - a budget-friendly movie series for the entire family.  For the first three Saturdays in December at 11:00am, we'll host movies that are free for kids 12 and under and only $2 for anyone else.  Tickets for these screenings are only available in-person starting 45 minutes before showtimes. On Dec. 6, we'll start with the beloved animated tale THE POLAR EXPRESS.  On Dec. 13, it's the family comedy JINGLE ALL THE WAY, and on Dec. 20, we'll wrap up with something we've wanted to screen for years...a Rankin & Bass holiday classic - THE YEAR WITHOUT A SANTA CLAUS.

National Theatre Live's
LIFE OF PI

We're delighted to add National Theatre Live's production of LIFE OF PI to our big screen on Sunday, Dec. 7 at 5:00. "Puppetry, magic and storytelling combine in a unique, Olivier Award-winning stage adaptation of the best-selling novel. After a cargo ship sinks in the middle of the vast Pacific Ocean, a 16-year-old boy named Pi is stranded on a lifeboat with four other survivors – a hyena, a zebra, an orangutan and a Royal Bengal tiger. Filmed live in London’s West End and featuring state-of-the-art visuals, the epic journey of endurance and hope is bought to life in a breath-taking new way for cinemas screens."
Tickets are $12.50 each.

SILVER STREAK

It's hard to believe that Labor Day weekend marked the end of my 24th year at THE NEON.  In 2001, I became manager while the cinema was under a major renovation - transforming from a single-screen movie theater to a cinema with 2 screens, a quaint lobby and a fenced-in patio.  One of the first things I did was hire Diana - our current assistant manager. A lot has happened over the last 2+ decades, and THE NEON's Board of Trustees is using some of this story to help usher in this year's Annual Campaign.
