Hello Everyone.
We've got just a little more than a week before we re-open. The CORNER STORE film crew has been here for 12+ hour days since Oct. 14, and we're excited for what they're creating.
On Friday, Oct. 30, we'll open two, highly anticipated films - WICKER and YOU CAN SEE EVERYTHING (this film was the winner of the "audience request" by a landslide...and over the weekend, it became the biggest opening for a documentary in over 20 years). You'll need to hurry down to see these films because one of them will need to leave to make room for WILD HORSE NINE - which opens on November 5. If you want to make plans sooner than later, you can get advance tickets for all three films.
And don't forget about our fun event surrounding WICKER. During opening weekend, we'll have a special guest doing basket weaving demonstrations in our lobby. "Darden Bradshaw is a fiber artist and educator working primarily in weaving, felting, and basketry. Darden loves to share her passion for working with fibers with others. She believes that art making celebrates our humanity; in slowing down and manipulating materials associated with historic processes, women's work, and craft, Darden finds an antidote to the hurried, disconnected and chaotic pace of today's contemporary world." We hope you'll come out while our visiting artist is demonstrating her art on Opening Night (Oct. 30) and again during matinees on Saturday, Oct. 31. Darden will also have her baskets for sale.
