Wes Anderson's ASTEROID CITY!

Hello Everyone,

This Thursday evening, we're excited to open Wes Anderson's latest film - ASTEROID CITY! On top of incredible production design and sophisticated storytelling, the cast is stellar - Jason Schwartzman, Scarlett Johansson, Tom Hanks, Jeffrey Wright, Tilda Swinton, Bryan Cranston, Edward Norton, Adrien Brody, Liev Schreiber and so, so many more! After the film's Cannes premiere, IndieWire had this to say,

"A film that sneaks up on you -- that fools you into thinking it’s just a scattershot collection of discrete little details and gags... But the deeper this movie disappears into itself, the more its play-like rhythms begin to create their own rhymes."

Next Thursday, we'll open one of the best reviewed films of the year -  PAST LIVES! ROLLING STONE says that it's

"A movie that liberates your tears and makes you fall in love with it. It is almost assuredly predestined to be the single best movie you see this year."

Tickets for its opening weekend are already available. Tickets for Greta Gerwig's BARBIE, opening July 20, go on sale at Noon today (showtimes are on our  website.

Open Caption Mondays" continue to be well-received. On Monday, June 26, ASTEROID CITY and IT AIN'T OVER will be presented with Open Captions. As a reminder, seating is no longer assigned on Mondays-Thursdays for traditional engagements.

NEW ENGAGEMENT: Synopsis ASTEROID CITY: "ASTEROID CITY takes place in a fictional American desert town circa 1955. The itinerary of a Junior Stargazer/Space Cadet convention (organized to bring together students and parents from across the country for fellowship and scholarly competition) is spectacularly disrupted by world-changing events." On Sunday, July 9 at 4:00, we're bringing the next National Theatre Live production to our big screen - David Tennant in the classic play GOOD. "Tennant (Doctor Who) makes a blistering return to the West End in one of Britain’s most powerful political plays, as an ordinary man who is swept into the Nazi regime. As the world faces its Second World War, John Halder, a good, intelligent German professor, finds himself pulled into a movement with unthinkable consequences. Olivier Award-winner Dominic Cooke (Follies) directs C.P. Taylor’s timely tale, with a cast that also features Elliot Levey (Coriolanus) and Sharon Small (The Bay). Filmed live from the Harold Pinter Theatre in London." Tickets are $12.50 each and available now! Click the image below to see the production's trailer.

2 SPECIAL SCREENINGS are now set for this 50th Anniversary celebration! "One of the most iconic performances in the history of modern music, David Bowie’s retirement of his Ziggy Stardust alter ego in front of 5,000 fans at London’s Hammersmith Odeon was captured on film by award-winning director D.A. Pennebaker on July 3, 1973. In celebration of the 50th anniversary of this event, the original, uncut version of the film has been restored in 4K and with a 5.1 theatrical mix and will feature never-before-seen performances with legendary guitar player Jeff Beck. ZIGGY STARDUST AND THE SPIDERS FROM MARS: THE MOTION PICTURE 50TH ANNIVERSARY is the closest audiences will come to being there on that unforgettable night 50 years ago." In celebration of the landmark musical's 80th Anniversary, see  OKLAHOMA! on the Big Screen with us. 2 Special Screenings with tickets just $12.50 each. "Oh, what a beautiful day! This July, the magic and energy of live theatre is coming to THE NEON with the National Theatre’s acclaimed, Olivier Award-winning production of Rodgers & Hammerstein’s OKLAHOMA! Starring then-newcomer Hugh Jackman (Les Misérables, The Greatest Showman) as Curly, alongside Maureen Lipman, Josefina Gabrielle and Shuler Hensley, this riveting stage production was filmed during its record-breaking 1998 run in London. Directed by theatre legend Trevor Nunn (CATS, Les Misérables) with choreography by Susan Stroman, OKLAHOMA! features some of musical theatre’s most delightfully hummable songs, including “Oh, What a Beautiful Mornin’,” “The Surrey with the Fringe on Top” and the joyous title tune, “Oklahoma.” Now one of the most beloved musicals ever to grace the stage is coming to the big screen 80 years after it first premiered on Broadway." Piecing together his comet-like rise to pop stardom, his creative and destructive impulses, breakdown, exit from the band and subsequent life alone, this feature length documentary is set against the social context of the explosive sixties. Directed by Storm Thorgerson (Hipgnosis) and award-winning director Roddy Bogawa, it features new interviews with Syd’s friends, lovers, family and band mates Roger Waters, David Gilmour, and Nick Mason."
